WHY TAP WATER HAS CHLORINE / CHLORAMINE?

Neutralise is designed to actively target and destroy both chloramine and chlorine in tap water. Keep in mind that chlorine is a potent disinfectant used throughout the UK to eliminate harmful bacteria and make water safe for domestic use. From an early age, we all learn to recognise the smell of chlorine in tap water and even in swimming pools and other places where water needs to remain bacteria-free.

However, newer researches and findings indicate that using only chlorine in tap water can be dangerous. It can create some unwanted harmful by-products. To reduce the risk for the general population, water companies have long since started to utilize a more stable version of the chemical, called chloramine. The process of adding chloramine is simple and involves mixing ammonia into chlorinated water. Chloramine is more stable and potent than chlorine. Thus, it is far better at eliminating bacteria. So much so, that you receive your tap water ready to drink or water your plants.

HOW TO USE NEUTRALISE TO DECHLORINATE WATER

Using Ecothrive Neutralise is simple and straightforward. Just follow these three steps:

1. Fill a container with water
2. Add 1 drop of Neutralise per Litre
3. Use your dechlorinated water as intended

• Any brand of nutrients
• Any brand of additives
• Will not affect the pH

Neutralise will not affect the final conductivity, but is mildly acidic and can reduce the pH of soft tap water by 0.1. If you have moderate or hard tap water you will not notice any effect on pH. Read our How to Use section for more information on applying the product.
